Aluminium Profiles

TREADDA is our most prestigious stair nosing range and combines anti-slip, durability and good looks, all in a single product.

Key to the design of the TREADDA range is the inclusion of profiles to help clients comply with the requirements of the DDA (Disability Discrimination Act 1994).

With many thousands of slipping and tripping accidents occurring each year in public places, the obligation on property owners and managers to find ways of preventing them is a constant one. Falls on steps and stairs are among the most common of such accidents and their cause is often due to the absence of effective anti-slip and/or step edge definition.

Although it has been long accepted that anti-slip on stairs is essential, it is perhaps only since the introduction of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA) that full appreciation has been given to the importance of adequately defining step edges, especially for the benefit of those with impaired vision. Whilst there are now many products available to help remedy these issues, our TREADDA® range of anti-slip stair treads and nosings offers non-slip and step edge definition in single product which is both cost effective and easy to install.

Made from high tensile extruded aluminium, the TREADDA® range of stair tread and nosing profiles incorporate CARBIGRIP® to the walking surface which gives durable anti-slip in dry and wet condition. This means that they can be installed on internal and external stairs and where there is heavy foot traffic, such as in railway stations.

The thinking behind the design of the range is a simple one; to utilise the least number of profiles to create the maximum number of supply options for providing durable anti-slip on all types of step and stairs. With just seven standard profiles - five of which form a modular system and two of which are feathered at the back edges for stand-alone fixing - TREADDA offers a solution to suit any application, whether 'sit-on' or 'sit-in' and whether part or full going/landing cover. The range also includes profiles with highlighted risers to help clients meet with the requirements of the DDA.

Complimenting the anti-slip stair tread and nosing profiles are our non-slip insert discs and insert strips. The discs are available in two diameters and the strips in four widths.

CARBIGRIP® is also offered as an anti-slip medium for putting into customer supplied timber decking boards and other similar free issue materials.
