K-Grip Applied Anti Slip


Initially developed for providing anti-slip on marble and stone, K-Grip can also be used on most interior and exterior hard surfaces including concrete, timber/decking, metal, GRP, glass and most vinyl and is available in a range of standard, metallic and luminous colours to help ensure DDA (Disability Discrimination Act 1994) compliance, with special custom colours to order.

It can be factory applied to customer supplied product, or in-situ by our specialist installation team and, as a liquid before fully curing, K-Grip is ideal for creating anti-slip strips or discs and for creating bespoke shapes, including signage, company logos, directional arrows, etc.

K-Grip is a two part silan-based resin system with a natural curing time of approximately 3 to 8 hours depending on ambient temperature conditions, though use of moderate or forced heat during application - for example by a heat gun or hair drier - will allow pedestrian traffic on the anti-slip surface after only 20 minutes. Final solidity is achieved after approximately 3 to 7 days.
 
Standard colours for the K-Grip anti-slip treatment include white, beige, black, grey, dark grey, red, green, blue, yellow, translucent, photo luminescent, bronze (metallic), silver (metallic) and gold (metallic). Custom colours can be provided to order.
 
The K-Grip anti-slip treatment complies with the slip-resistance requirements of Transfire Services Ltd text ST/101/98, using TRL Slip Tester. ASTM D4060 Taber Abrasion Test. It also complies with the requirements of the DDA (Disability & Discrimination Act 1995) and revised Building Regulation M 1999, for visual and slip-resistance. K-Grip is approved in the USA for use in food preparation areas. ASTM E 662-83 Smoke Density Flaming Ds=181 Non-flaming Ds=190 (K-Grip AF only).
