Our heavy-duty GRP anti slip flat sheet flooring is perfect for use in warehouses, on disabled access ramps, factory floors, marina walkways and even in public entrance areas that can soon become slippery when wet. The flat sheet flooring product offers a high quality, durable anti-slip system that is hard wearing and able to withstand heavy traffic areas.
The heavy-duty GRP flat sheets that we supply are also resistant to many different chemicals making the product suitable for use in manufacturing environments, industry and factories. They work well even in the harshest of environments. The system is quick and easy to fit to any existing surface and it can be walked on immediately after installation with minimal disruption or downtime for your business.
As a heavy-duty product, it is available in two grit grades; fine for use indoors and coarse for external application. The product is constructed from a high-quality composite glass woven matting incorporated with isophthalic resin making the flat sheets one of the most durable and long lasting products that you can find on the market. It will also resist changes in temperature and physical stresses which can cause swelling, stretching or warping with similar products.
If the flooring does become damaged, it is easy to replace. The flooring sheets are covered with a unique, ceramic grit which falls around 9 on the MOHs hardness scale, making them ideal for high traffic areas that will last for many years. It even has a 10 year guarantee against breakage when properly installed.
Easy to install, our heavy duty flat sheets can be fitted into place quickly and easily when used in combination with our GRP flat sheet and landing cover Fixing Kits. A single fixing kit will cover a full sheet which currently measures 2400mm by 1200mm.
Before the heavy-duty flat sheet is installed, the surface should be suitable and free from debris, clean and dry. If there are any defects in the floor such as holes or bumps these should be addressed before the material is fitted. Once you have a flat, smooth surface area to work with the sheet is ready to install.
All of the panels should be dry fitted to ensure that they cover the entire surface area comfortably and they sit flat to the floor. If necessary, you can trim the product on site to suit the specific area to be covered. Trimming is undertaken with a skill saw with a 4mm diamond blade or an angle grinder with a 1mm blade. Goggles and gloves should be worn while trimming the product.
Using the fitting kit, you will need to apply a 6mm bead of high strength gap filling adhesive around the edges of the panels approximately 25mm in from the edges. The amount of adhesive you use may vary depending on the surface, you may need more or less than the recommended 6mm. Start at the bottom left corner, come up at an angle around 200mm across and then down at an angle to create a peak and a trough, repeating this until you have covered the entire area. Firmly press the panel into place to ensure that the adhesive transfers evenly over the underside of the sheet. Depending on the amount of bead that you use, this will elevate the sheet by 1mm to 1.5mm. It will take approximately an hour to achieve a strong bond to the surface. Mechanical fixings should be used to secure the material in place.
Once fitted, you will need to use a drill to make a series of holes 50mm from the edge and no more than 300mm apart from the centre. Depending on the width of the panel you may wish to include fixing points at approximately 600mm from the centre of the panel. Substrates can vary considerably so you may need to use additional fixings to secure the panels. If you are fitting two pieces of the flat sheet to a floor where there are sides, such as a ramp with a wall on either side, you should allow a 5mm expansion gap between the sheets. This gap can then be filled with a suitable, high modulus mastic.
