GRP Anti Slip Flat Sheet Flooring
- Ex Tax: £32.00
There are certain environments where anti-slip flooring is a necessity. Our standard GRP anti-slip flat sheet flooring is suitable for many different applications whether it’s a ramp or walkway, corridor or warehouse floor. It’s a durable and long lasting product that is easy to apply and can be walked on almost immediately after installation, so it won’t result in downtime or disruption to main work areas. As well as being anti-slip, the surface of the flooring is also resistant to a range of chemicals which makes it suitable for application in a commercial or industrial environment.
Manufactured from fibreglass GRP, the standard flat sheet is long lasting and durable. As some floors age they can soon show wear and tear, but our flooring products are resistant to swelling, warping or stretching, even when exposed to changes in temperature, different weather conditions or contaminants such as chemicals or water. Where a piece of the flooring is damaged in some way it can be quickly and easily removed and replaced.
The surface of the flooring product has been coated in silicon quartz grit which forms a strong anti-slip system on any ramp or walkway. It is very easy to install too using the adhesive and mechanical fixings and it can be applied to almost any substrate. Available with a 3 year guarantee in the event of breakage.
For best results, we recommend that you use our GRP flat sheet and landing cover fixing kits to secure the GRP flat sheet into place. The fixing kits will make the installation process much quicker and easier too. A single fixing kit will provide enough adhesive for a full 2400mm by 1200mm sheet.
Before the GRP sheet can be fixed to the surface, it is important to ensure that it is free from loose material and debris and it is completely clean and dry. If there are any bumps or holes in the floor, these should be smoothed or filled to create a smooth, flat surface. Take each of the panels for the floor area and dry fit them first to make sure that they fit freely onto the surface area of the floor and they are flat on the surface. If needed, the panels can be trimmed to size using either an angle grinder with a 1mm blade or a skill saw with a 4mm diamond blade. Suitable protective clothing such as goggles and gloves should be worn while cutting the product.
Fixing Kit Application
Once the surface has been adequately prepared, a 6mm bead of gap filling adhesive should be applied around the perimeter of the panels approximately 25mm from the edge. Starting at the bottom left corner, take the adhesive up at an angle approximately 200mm and then down again to create a peak and a trough. This pattern should be repeated along the full length of the flooring. Once sufficient adhesive has been applied, secure the panel to the substrate to make sure that the adhesive is evenly distributed across the panel. The panel will be elevated between 1mm and 1.5mm depending on how much adhesive that you apply. Once the panels have been fitted to the floor using the recommended product, they should achieve a firm bond after approximately an hour of application. The panels should also be secured with mechanical fixings to make sure that the product remains in situ.
At 300mm from the centre of the panel, drill a series of holes 50mm from the edge. These holes will serve as fixing points. Substrates will vary so you may need more or less fixings to secure the panels in place. If there are walls or obstacles either side of the flat GRP sheet, you should allow for a 5mm expansion gap. Any gaps can be easily filled using a modulus mastic.
